My wish for you... is your story.

December 15, 2018

This time of year is all about stories -- of lights in the darkness, of cultural belonging, of spiritual beginnings. Those big stories are supported by all sorts of smaller stories.

For example, each year my mom calls from afar and reads The Night Before Christmas to us on speaker phone while we all cuddle together in bed - we all have stories about those big cultural narratives.

As you frolic through the season, you probably don't even need to be reminded to note those stories - they are what it's all about!

This year, though, my wish for you is to take a moment to reflect on your story -- what you have overcome, what you may be enduring right now, the lives you've touched, the light you brought to the world.

Every time  you've volunteered, dropped a quarter in a collection container, checked on a neighbor, held a door, donated instead of dumped, marched, given someone a ride, an apple, a smile... every time, you are putting ease into the world.

Please accept my thanks. I really thank you.  I hope that you can see the beauty in the story of you and feel my thanks for doing good things large and wee.

Thank you.

The story of you matters: to me and to the world.

What if... we collected all our stories of  "us good women" and saved them for the babies that will be born in 2019 -- and beyond?

They would read our good stories and have a history that sustained them.

We can just get a few of us together and start... host a workshop  (online version coming soon!), or get a few sisters together and Tell All The Stories around One Special Photo.  Got an idea of your own? Do it! If I can help, hit reply to this email and let's get rolling. :)

Happy holidays, and thank you.
